Dr. Vijaya Koka, MD, FACC, is a distinguished cardiologist with a wealth of experience spanning several decades. Currently serving at the Cardiovascular Institute of Central Florida, Dr. Koka has been committed to providing exceptional cardiac care since January 2007.
Dr. Koka’s journey in medicine began at Guntur Medical College in India, where he earned his MBBS and MD degrees. He furthered his training with internships and residencies in internal medicine at prestigious institutions such as Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, iwhere he was Chief Resident . He received two awards from Coney Island Hospital: the Dr. Ghani Mohammad Memorial award for outstanding professional performance as an intern and the Virginia Nash Medical Scholarship award for outstanding professional performance serving as a resident.
Throughout his career, Dr. Koka has held various clinical positions, including fellowships in cardiology at Coney Island Hospital. He has contributed significantly to medical literature with publications on topics such as spontaneous coronary artery dissection and plasminogen levels as a risk factor for coronary artery disease.
